Polytechnic University will act as an expert and consultant for two Slavonic universities: Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU), Yerevan, and the Belarusian-Russian University (BRU), Mogilev.
In July 2014 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation initiated a new project in order to work out and implement programs for the Slavonic universities development. At present, there are several Russian-Slavonic national universities (SU): in the Republic of Armenia (Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University), Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin), Republic of Tajikistan (Russian-Tajik Slavonic University) and Republic of Belarus (Belarusian-Russian University). The new project is aimed at encouraging and supporting positive changes in the SU for their active and successful positioning in the national and international markets of educational services, R & D and innovation; active involvement of universities in a mutually beneficial partnership with the leading Russian and international research and educational centers; promoting culture and competencies in Slavonic universities for their sustainable development.
On July 23-24, 2014 the meeting for two Slavonic Universities - RAU and BRU was organized at SPbPU. The meeting was held in a combined format - BRU representatives took part in full-time work and the working group of RAU - in videoconference. Both session days were organized in the following way: 2-2.5 hours of work in a videoconference, and 3 hours – consulting and expert work of SPbPU working group with the SU representatives..
During the consultation meetings with the core SPbPU groups (education, research, international activities, economics, human resources and management) the representatives of Belarusian-Russian University discussed the most perspective tasks and activities in the relevant areas to be included in the development program, the problems of building an interrelated system "Education-Research-Development", staffing and program management issues.
As a result of the session, the parties defined the work schedule and agreed on scheduling the meetings in BRU and RAU for August and September
